What is Zalovo?

Zalovo is a village. Well, it used to be the name of a village in the northern city/state of Grevena, Greece. The town was renamed Trikomo in 1927. It’s where my dad was born in 1940 and lived during his formative years before moving to the United States. I first visited the small village when I was 10 in 1986.

Parents (and probably the authorities) of today would probably be horrified at all the places I would go unsupervised when I was there that year and during subsequent years.
